What is
Simple Phalloplasty?
Simple phalloplasty is a cutting-edge surgical procedure aimed at creating a phallus using the patient’s own tissues (autografts). Unlike other more complex techniques that include urethral extension in a first phase, simple phalloplasty focuses on creating the volume, shape, and aesthetics of the phallus, ensuring a solid foundation for genital identity.
In our Zaragoza unit, we use tissue flaps (usually from the forearm or thigh) to sculpt a phallus with natural dimensions and appearance. It is the option chosen by those who prioritize external aesthetics and bodily integrity, allowing, if desired, for additional functionalities to be added in later stages.

- Permanent Results: By using living and vascularized tissue, the result is an integral part of your body that evolves with you.
- Sensitivity and Touch: Thanks to microsurgery techniques, we work to preserve and connect nerve endings that allow for tactile and erogenous sensitivity.

Frequently asked questions
At our clinic in Zaragoza, we not only address your medical concerns, but we also support you emotionally at every stage. Your safety and your identity are our priority.
Will I have sensitivity in the new phallus?
The goal of the microsurgical technique is to connect the nerves from the donor site with the local nerves. Although nerve recovery is slow, most patients develop tactile and, in many cases, erogenous sensitivity over time.
Can I urinate standing up with a simple phalloplasty?
In the “simple” version, the urethra is not usually extended to the tip of the phallus. However, this procedure prepares the anatomy for a urethroplasty in a future phase if that is your wish.
What happens to the area where the tissue is taken from (donor site)?
The donor site (arm or thigh) will have a permanent scar. In Zaragoza, we use skin graft techniques so that the recovery of that area is as aesthetic and functional as possible.
Is it compatible with erectile prostheses?
Yes. Once the phallus has healed and sensitivity has settled (generally after a year), the implantation of prostheses that allow for penetration can be considered.
